New York, New York, September 18, 2009 – Jamaica Impact, Inc. (JAMPACT) officially launches its Annual School Supply and Toy Drive at The Door Restaurant, 163-07 Baisely Boulevard, Jamaica, Queens NY on Saturday, October 19th at 1:00pm.
The supplies raised will be distributed in December to JAMPACT’s four adopted basic schools in Kingston, Jamaica: Crescent Road, Coles, St. Steven’s and Maxfield Park. Distribution will also be made to other local schools. Since 1999 JAMPACT has successfully coordinated its school supply and toy drive and distributed to these and other schools located in impoverish neighborhoods in Jamaica.
The drive runs from September 1st through to October 31st. Stations are conveniently located throughout New York City ready to accept new or lightly used supplies such as note books, reading books, pencils/pens, educational toys, backpacks, etc.

NEW YORK (JIS) Tuesday, April 14, 2009 – Scores of New Yorkers on Sunday evening, April 5, joined family and close associates in an emotional home-going service for Hermie G. Tomlinson, at the Emmaus SDA Church in central Brooklyn, NY.
The 91 years old matriarch of the Tomlinson family made a quiet transition on March 31, after decades of exemplary service to her adopted Brooklyn community she called home since l962.
