The tourist resort town of Negril will come alive from February 1st to the 7th with the 17th staging of the annual Bob Marley Birthday Bash. It will be a week long celebration for the king of reggae music Robert Nesta Marley. This birthday bash is the brain-child of Clive Kubba Pringle owner of the MXIII Entertainment Centre and is being staged by MXIII Entertainment & the Negril Westend MSME in association with the Bob Marley Foundation.
The bash will kick off on Sunday February 1st with a Nyahbingi drumming presentation at the MXIII Entertainment centre at 6PM. Day two will take the form of a free street party dubbed Spiritz On The One Love Drive along the entertainment strip on the One Love Drive aka the Westend Road. The Negril West End Cluster is an organization made up of over eighty small hotels, restaurants, bars, artisans and other businesses geared towards the tourism sector of the West End, Negril. On Saturday the 6th of December the cluster will be under-taking the staging of the Reggae Marathon victory party. This event is dubbed the Finish Line and will be held at the MX3 Park on the One Love Drive. This event will take the form of an awards show in an informal and fun atmosphere with the famed sights, tastes and sounds of the West End. 
Dancehall giants Bounty Killer & Ninja Man will headline the first annual Western Bembe Invasion which is slated to take place on Saturday July 5th 2008, at the Rickie’s Motors car park in Negril Spot Westmoreland. This event is the first of it kind to be held anywhere in western Jamaica.
