Government resolves to build understanding with residents of western Kingston

[Thursday, June 17, 2010]: Representatives of the Ministry of National Security, the Police Force and other Government agencies have reaffirmed their resolve to continue respectful dialogue with the citizens of western Kingston in order to understand their concerns, build understanding and to involve residents in plans for the way forward.

In the first of a series of community meetings planned for west Kingston, at the Tivoli Gardens Community Centre on Sunday, June 12th, some 200 residents mobilized by the Tivoli Gardens Community Development Committee engaged in meaningful and productive discussions on police citizen relations; the distribution of benefits earmarked for the community; the children of the community; loss of loved ones; trust, and restoration of property.

Coca-Cola and FIFA Give Teens Chance To Visit South Africa

Kingston, Jamaica (ACE Communications) — The 60-year-union between Coca-Cola and FIFA has been nothing short of creative and trailblazing since Coca-Cola’s days of merely advertising at every FIFA World Cup in 1950. So successful has it been, that their offsprings (football fans and Coca-Cola consumers), will benefit from the perfectly blissful union.

This year, the majestic duo has scored a landmark goal by embarking on a FIFA promotion that will leave Jamaican tongues wagging for months to come.

BACCHANAL TREASURES – CROWD FAVOURITE

Wednesday, February 24, Kingston, Jamaica (A.I.M Inc.): The vibe and energy surrounding Bacchanal Treasures continues to build with week 3 showing undoubtedly the greatest intensity thus far. Even the slight drizzle that greeted many of the early revelers was not enough to either dampen the vibe or detour the patrons from coming out to enjoy another Friday night at the Mas Camp.

With drink filled cups and soca in their ears, everybody was in a great mood half way into the night with a little over 3 hours remaining before the scheduled 2am lock off, the crowds had already started to fill the gaps in one of Kingston’s more spacious venues. No one could honestly say that the vibe was anything less than good; just enough to keep the patrons moving yet teasing them making them yearn for more with each passing minute. Credit must be given to Dj Billy and Dj Smoke representing the Renaissance Sound system. Both disc jockeys found the right blend of Dancehall and soca, both old and new to keep those in attendance jumping and raving.
