GLOBAL VYBZ ENTERTAINMENT PRESENTS REGGAE BASH 2009

oct31New York, NY (August 21, 2009) The successful Global Vybz Entertainment (GVE) is excited to announce Reggae Bash 2009. The show will take place on October 31, 2009 at 7:30pm and will be held in the heart of downtown Miami at the extravagant James L. Knight Center. GVE is teaming up with artists and sponsors to assure an awesome evening with top notch entertainers.

The Legendary ‘Godfather of Ska’ Laurel Aitken RIP daughter Claudia Yap of CYEntertainments UK is looking to release a number of her father’s tracks. Laurel Aitken born in Cuba, came to Kingston when he was 15 had numerous hit songs the first being Boogie in my Bones which later went to the Jamaica charts number 1 for 52 weeks which was produced by Chris Blackwell, of Island Records. Claudia Yap based in the UK and Jamaica decided it was time to review some of her father’s hit songs and take to the next level. Jamaican Reggae Conscious Artist – Mackie Conscious – Invited to perform at the 5th Summit

It has just been announced that, The IV Peoples’ Summit has invited Jamaican conscious reggae performer Dennis McKay aka Mackie Conscious, to be a guest performer at this year‘s Fifth Summit of the Americas conference. This year’s event will be held for the first time in the Caribbean; the Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago from April 17 – 19, 2009. COMMUNITY AGREES DANCEHALL IS A TROUBLED GENRE BUT SPLITS ON MUSIC BAN

Dancehall MusicOn Wednesday, March 4th the Coalition to Preserve Reggae music (CPR) in association with ZYNC TV NEW YORK LINKS hosted the highly anticipated community forum and panel discussion titled, “Could Dancehall be the ruination of Reggae and by extension the Jamaica brand?” The hot button debate was witnessed by about 200 persons who turned out to the historic Billie Holiday Theatre at Restoration Plaza in Brooklyn.

Jamaica’s Consul General to New York, Mrs. Genevieve Brown-Metzger brought greetings to the community stating that she personally welcomed the recent initiatives by the Government through its regulatory agency, the Broadcasting Commission; in saying enough is enough to those artistes, producers and mass media houses that have collaborated to bring the music and our popular culture into disrepute. Week Long Birthday Bash For Bob Marley In Negril

PhotobucketThe tourist resort town of Negril will come alive from February 1st to the 7th with the 17th staging of the annual Bob Marley Birthday Bash. It will be a week long celebration for the king of reggae music Robert Nesta Marley. This birthday bash is the brain-child of Clive Kubba Pringle owner of the MXIII Entertainment Centre and is being staged by MXIII Entertainment & the Negril Westend MSME in association with the Bob Marley Foundation.

The bash will kick off on Sunday February 1st with a Nyahbingi drumming presentation at the MXIII Entertainment centre at 6PM. Day two will take the form of a free street party dubbed Spiritz On The One Love Drive along the entertainment strip on the One Love Drive aka the Westend Road.
