Kingston Jamaica: February 02, 2010: Cassia Park deejay Wasp continues to show upward mobility in 2010 and was last weekend rewarded for his efforts by taking home the awards for ‘Most Requested Song’ and the coveted ‘Song of the Year’ for ‘Unfair Officer’ at the ROOTS FM awards show and concert held on Friday, January 29th at the station’s premises in Cockburn Gardens.
The award show unlike many others aims to bestow accolades on our local talent who continually churn out spiritually uplifting music throughout the year, the kind that aids in the rebuilding process of an emotional and economically battered nation such as Jamaica.

Kingston Jamaica: January 17, 2010: Double EME nominated recording artiste Marvin Clarke more popularly known as Wasp after seeing the horrific scenes and the extensive devastation suffered by Haiti in the recent earthquake has re-recorded his hit single ‘Cry Fi Dem’ as a tribute to the Haitian people.
Since re-recording the single there has been a tremendous demand for the song which a number of radio jocks and sound system selectors have describe as a fitting anthem.

Kingston, Jamaica – Gateway Capital Holdings/GCH Consulting has signed musical group “One Third” to their management roster. The group which consists of Alpheus ‘Al’ Johnson, Miguel Walters and Adrian Campbell, rose to prominence after winning the Digicel Rising Stars competition 2006 and began discussions with GCH for management representation in June of 2009.
The group which was previously managed by Ray Alexander, who is sometimes referred to in Dancehall as the “bald-headed Ray”, says the new agreement with Gateway Capital Holdings/ GCH Consulting for management representation and artist development is “something we have been wanted for a really long time. The ‘Feels So Good’ music video from sexy reggae singer Barbee premiered on Saturday on Winford Williams’ OnStage and earned the soulful singer some big props.
After the premiere, her momiger’s (mother/manager, Rose) phone was ringing off the hook as people called to congratulate Barbee on a great video and for her super hot sexy looks.
Shot at the prestigious Jamaica Conference Centre in Kingston, TD Films under the direction of Ras Tingle worked round the clock to capture the perfect ambiance for the ‘Feels So Good’ single that has been getting heavy airplay locally and abroad.
G and her crew from G&G Beauty Supply & Salon in Toronto, Canada flew into the island to outfit Barbee and the video ladies with their lace wigs, while Cathy was on par with makeup.
All the outfits featured in the video were styled by Barbee herself, who is always a perfectionist when it comes to flair and class – one of the reasons the diva loves shooting her videos in Jamaica.
