The promoter of the Reggae Jam Festival in Germany (which was once more voted to be the best Reggae Festival in Europe) will be supporting the non-profit organisation HELP Jamaica! in the future. HELP Jamaica! is fundraising money in Europe, to establish alternative Education Centers in needy Jamaican communities as well as supporting existing education projects such as the Trenchtown Reading Centre (TRC).
Bernd Lagemann, the main person behind the Reggae Jam Festival, better known as ‚Sheriff’ is supporting the establishing of the first HELP Jamaica!-operated Education Center in the community of Cassava Piece in Kingston 8 with a covenant donation of 5000,- EUR right after the Reggae Jam Festival in August 2010. Unique Caribbean Short Film Program at Rode Loper Festival in Amsterdam
On Saturday September 26 the Caribbean Creativity Foundation will present two unique programs of short films from the Caribbean as part of the Rode Loper Festival in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. From 14.00-15.30 hrs and from 19.30-21.00 hrs a wide range of productions will be screened at the Oosterpark, from documentaries and trailers to animation films and music videos. Together they represent the diversity and quality of the current media landscape of the (Anglophone) Caribbean – a region where a new generation of filmmakers has arrived.
