McDonald, who is highly regarded by many as a premier percussionist in the world / reggae genre is now residing in New York City but his career began at the heart of the Jamaican reggae/ska scene with a list of credits that includes but is not limited to collaborating with such beloved artists as: Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Toots & the Maytals, Bunny Wailer, Bad Brains, Taj Mahal, Earnest Ranglin, the Skatalites, Gil Scott Heron, Lee “Scratch” Perry and Soulfly. The boundary – pushing percussionist is also a founding member of two highly touted New York City reggae acts, The Rocksteady 7 and Dub is a Weapon.

BOB MARLEY MOVEMENT OF JAH PEOPLE 103.5 THE BEAT & RUM BUM PRESENT THE 16th ANNUAL CARIBBEAN FESTIVAL
For 16 years, one of South Florida’s longest running festivals is still going strong and feeding the hungry. The 16th Annual Caribbean Festival is a day long celebration of music, arts, and crafts honoring the life and philosophy of the legendary reggae star, Bob Marley.
The German clothing line YARD® have made an initial donation of more than four thousand US Dollars to a community library in Trench Town, Jamaica.
A community-library in Kingston, Jamaica, the Trench Town Reading Centre (TTRC), received an initial donation of 3.000 EUR (more than 4.000 US$) from the German based fashion brand YARD®. The YARD® style is known for its uniquely Caribbean and Dancehall flavour and is dedicated to the region and its people. YARD® created a special ‘TrenchTown’ charity shirt (www.yard-gear.com) as a means to continually support the TTRC.
The tourist resort town of Negril will come alive from February 1st to the 7th with the 17th staging of the annual Bob Marley Birthday Bash. It will be a week long celebration for the king of reggae music Robert Nesta Marley. This birthday bash is the brain-child of Clive Kubba Pringle owner of the MXIII Entertainment Centre and is being staged by MXIII Entertainment & the Negril Westend MSME in association with the Bob Marley Foundation.
The bash will kick off on Sunday February 1st with a Nyahbingi drumming presentation at the MXIII Entertainment centre at 6PM. Day two will take the form of a free street party dubbed Spiritz On The One Love Drive along the entertainment strip on the One Love Drive aka the Westend Road.
