Four South Florida Jamaican Alumni form an unprecedented partnership for the 3-day True Blue Event, April 16-18th, 2010 The St. Andrew Old Girls’ Association Florida Inc., The Convent of Mercy Academy “Alpha” Association, Inc., The St. George’s College Old Boys Association of Florida, Inc. and The Jamaica College Old Boys Association of Florida, Inc have formed an unprecedented partnership to showcase the 3-day True Blue/Ziadie cup event April 16th -18th 2010. The 6th Annual Dennis Ziadie Cup Football Match

Miramar, Florida – The 6th Annual soccer match between the Jamaica College Old Boys Association of Florida and the St. George’s College Old Boys Association of Florida for the Dennis Ziadie Trophy will take place on Saturday April 17th, 2010 in Miramar, Florida. Star-studded lineup for Bob Marley Charity Football Matches and Celebrity Olympics

(Kingston, Jamaica) Various local celebrities and personalities will compete in friendly football matches and track events at the 27th annual Bob Marley Charity Football Matches and Celebrity Olympics, scheduled for Ash Wednesday, February 17 at the National Stadium. Proceeds from this event will be donated to select local children’s charities and relief to earthquake-ravaged Haiti. Among those celebrities and personalities already confirmed to participate are Ding Dong, Chino, Chris Martin, Cobra, Elephant Man, Sky Juice, Wayne Marshall, Aidonia, Jimmy Adams, Bruce Bicknell, Zachary Harding, Wolde Harris, Peter Prendegrast, Lenny Hyde, Ali Mcnab and Courtney Walsh.

The exciting roster of events includes the Celebrities vs. Entertainers football match, Corporate 100 metres dash, Female Artistes 100 metres dash and DREAM Promoters 4 x 100 metres relay, featuring promoters of the popular Negril DREAM Weekend parties. JCOBA Launches Historic First Annual Patty Festival of America – A World First Celebration of Patties

Bronx, NY August 24, 2009 – The Jamaica College Old Boys Association of New York, Inc. is hosting the first annual Patty Festival of America August 29, 2009 at the Evander Childs High School Soccer Stadium in the Bronx. Start time is 12 noon and the event ends at 9pm.

There will be Patty Eating and Patty Tasting contests among other activities designed to celebrate this Jamaican delicacy. The focal point of the Festival will be the crowning of the 2009 Patty Eating & Patty Connoisseur Champions at the conclusion of the event. Jamaica off to Swimming World Championships

Jackie Walter, Jamaica’s swimming technical director, is confident that the country’s four-member team to the 13th FINA World Swimming Championships to be held in Rome from tomorrow through to August 2 will represent the nation well.

Three of the four-member team, Kendese Nangle, Natasha Moodie and Brad Hamilton left the island last night to join Jonathan Wong who has already arrived in Rome.

“Three of them have been preparing abroad with their coaches. They are very well prepared and they are all excited about going,” Walter said. Continue reading Jamaica off to Swimming World Championships
