The promoter of the Reggae Jam Festival in Germany (which was once more voted to be the best Reggae Festival in Europe) will be supporting the non-profit organisation HELP Jamaica! in the future. HELP Jamaica! is fundraising money in Europe, to establish alternative Education Centers in needy Jamaican communities as well as supporting existing education projects such as the Trenchtown Reading Centre (TRC).
Bernd Lagemann, the main person behind the Reggae Jam Festival, better known as ‚Sheriff’ is supporting the establishing of the first HELP Jamaica!-operated Education Center in the community of Cassava Piece in Kingston 8 with a covenant donation of 5000,- EUR right after the Reggae Jam Festival in August 2010. JIIC has been a leading sponsor of Poetry in Motion, a seven (7) year-old event that has showcased some of the best talent in Creative Art locally.
Now, the Golden Tongue Awards (GTA), a prelude to Poetry in Motion (PIM), appeals to younger and new poets.
