SCHOOL DROP OUTS, FIND ‘SANCTUARY’ WITH CSJP-FUNDED PROGRAMME

[CSJP, Friday, February 19, 2010]: The two year old ‘Flanker Youth Sanctuary’ is being hailed for changing the lives of scores of school dropouts as well as expelled and suspended students from St. James, and may be preventing many from turning to crime and violence.

Through the Flanker Community Development Committee and with the support of the Citizen Security and Justice Programme (CSJP) of the Ministry of National Security, the Sanctuary has been rehabilitating students who have found themselves on the wrong side of school rules, at the Flanker Peace and Justice Centre. HELP

The promoter of the Reggae Jam Festival in Germany (which was once more voted to be the best Reggae Festival in Europe) will be supporting the non-profit organisation HELP Jamaica! in the future. HELP Jamaica! is fundraising money in Europe, to establish alternative Education Centers in needy Jamaican communities as well as supporting existing education projects such as the Trenchtown Reading Centre (TRC).

Bernd Lagemann, the main person behind the Reggae Jam Festival, better known as ‚Sheriff’ is supporting the establishing of the first HELP Jamaica!-operated Education Center in the community of Cassava Piece in Kingston 8 with a covenant donation of 5000,- EUR right after the Reggae Jam Festival in August 2010. PATRICE MCHUGH SELECTED FOR INTERNATIONAL COCKTAIL BOOK

(Kingston, Jamaica) — Patrice McHugh, Managing Director of the Bars To Go Group of Companies was recently selected to appear in a cocktail booklet alongside the world’s leading mixologists.

The book, which is called the ‘Don Julio Luxury Booklet’, will be released in February 2010 and the world’s top mixologists were asked to submit a recipe using Don Julio as the base spirit in addition to fresh ingredients. In addition, the drink is to be accompanied by a ritual. Case in point, the known way to drink tequila is with salt, then sucking on lime.

Wanting to step away from the usual way of drinking tequila, each mixologist’s recipe and ritual is sure to be a hit with tequila fans. Patrice’s Don Julio recipe incorporated the use of fresh tangerine juice, ginger juice, Agave syrup and Don Julio Reposado tequila. ONLINE JAMAICAN COMMUNITY DONATES TO THE HEART FOUNDATION OF JAMAICA

Hollywood, FL – On Thursday November 19, 2009, at the offices of the Heart Foundation of Jamaica (HFJ), Jamaicans.com owner, Xavier Murphy , presented a check for J$ 41,050 (US $500) to assist the Foundation in its fight against heart disease in Jamaica.

The donation was made possible through the generosity of the Jamaicans.com site visitors & members who donated to the annual Heart Foundation of Jamaica drive.

Mr. Paul Thompson, Medical Manager at the Foundation said, “With the rapid increase in the demand for our services and the coherent growth in our facilities and offerings, there has been an ever-increasing need for us to acquire additional equipment.
