What is a press release?
A press release is a news worthy article written for distribution on behalf of a government agency, company or non-profit organization for submission to news publishers. Examples of press release may include, but not limited to new product announcements, company awards, new sales, hiring of executive officers, acquisitions, government legislation and scheduled events.
Important Tips:
- The opening paragraph should answer the 5W hows (who, what, when, where and why)
- Your press release must be written in the Third Person
- Make sure that your press release is not more than 400 words
- Include reliable contact information (email address, phone number and website address.)
