The Waterhouse Football Club in collaboration with the Citizen Security and Justice Programme (CSJP) of the Ministry of National Security will kick off the annual “Share the Love” Community Summer Football League under the umbrella of CSJP’s innovative Goals 4 Life initiative, this Saturday starting at 3 p.m.
Twenty teams have been registered from five communities namely, Waterhouse, Drewsland, Seaview Gardens, Riverton City and Olympic Gardens.
Teams will participate in the Opening Ceremony and Dress Parade followed by the opening game at 4:00 pm between defending champion G-Unit and Ragged FC.
Over the course of the league, players will participate in CSJP’s specially tailored Goals 4 Life’s life skills sessions.
Guest Speakers will be Member of Parliament, the Honourable Anthony Hylton and Director of Crime Prevention of the Ministry of National Security, Courtney Brown.
The CSJP, which is deepening its outreach to unattached young males through sports, is a crime prevention initiative of the Ministry of National Security funded by the Inter American Development Bank (IDB). The Programme provides a menu of services such as life skills and vocational skills training, parenting education and community development to 27 volatile and vulnerable communities in the Kingston Metropolitan Area, St James and Westmoreland.
