HEART Trust/NTA’s Values Icon Award for 2009 was presented to Dewayne Pryce and its Best Customer Care Representative 2009 to Christopher Phillips at a ceremony to honour the winners. Mr. Pryce said his plans as Values Icon include starting a monthly internal radio programme with input from staff while an obviously overwhelmed Mr. Phillips expressed gratitude for the recognition.
The Values Icons and Customer Care winners, who were nominated by their colleagues, were interviewed and selected by a panel of internal and external judges. The winners were announced at an awards luncheon last week at the Hotel Four Seasons.
Keynote speaker Lt Col. Oscar Derby, Director General of the Jamaica Civil Aviation Authority (JCAA), told the audience that icons are legends of our time that have made tremendous contributions to our world. He cited Bob Marley, Martin L. King and Barack Obama as examples.
Lt Col. Derby also pointed out that HEART Trust/NTA and the JCAA have similar core values: customer satisfaction, innovation, relevance, partnership and teamwork. To underscore the importance of relationship building, Lt. Col. Derby said JCAA will host one of the largest aviation conferences this year because of the network they have built with aviation authorities worldwide.
The ceremony at the Four Seasons was well attended by HEART Trust/NTA staff, executives and board members, including Mr. Earl Moore and Dr. Chadwick Anderson and external judge Mrs. Kay-Ann Harry-Taylor of Alliance Insurance Brokers Limited.
