Hummingbird Hall Hosts UN Ambassadors Wives

On March 5 2010, in conjunction with the Jamaica Tourist Board, Hummingbird Hall hosted a delegation of UN Ambassadors’ wives to a tea party as a climax of their trip to Jamaica.

Led by the wife of the Jamaican Ambassador Mrs Woolf, the delegation included representatives from Iran, Afghanistan, Bosnia, United States of America and Thailand. The reresentatives traveled to sites around Jamaica such as Dunns River Falls, the “Hip Strip” and Doctor’s Cave Beach, and towns including Falmouth, Kingston and Ocho Rios. The purpose of the visit was cultural exchange, cultural immersion and the promotion of Jamaica as the Caribbean vacation island of choice.

As the culimination of this trip, Hummingbird Hall hosted a “meet the people” tea party where the delegates were given the fabulous opportunity to mingle with prominent locals including international author Dr Vernella Fuller. All present were treated to the dance inducing sounds of the Sunshine Mento Band who played Jamaican classics such as ‘Jamaica Farewell’ and ‘One Love’. Delicious cocktails and food were provided by The Native restaurant and delightfully arranged beneath Hummingbird Hall’s delightfully stunning gazebo.

During the event the delegates enjoyed a guided tour of Hummingbird Hall – Montego Bay’s most fabulous boutique event and wedding venue. The design of the Hall, unique and art, beautiful grounds and stunning views were some of the numerous compliments.

Hummingbird Hall was truly honored to have been chosen by the Jamaica Tourist Board to host this magnanimous event, and looks forward to creating many more fabulous events, weddings and retreats in the future.
