NEW YORK, NY. Tuesday, June 30, 2009 — The Jamaican Consulate General, New York announces a Passport Outreach on Wednesday, 15 July 2009 in the community of Hartford, Connecticut. This will be held from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Collin Bennett Agency, Collin Bennett Building, 1229 Albany Avenue, CT 06112.
The purpose of this mission is to provide a measure of support to Jamaicans in the Hartford community and nearby environs mainly through the collection of passport and Jamaican citizenship (descent) applications and the provision of pertinent advice on various consular matters.
The Jamaican Consul General, Mrs. Geneive Brown Metzger, explains that the Jamaican Consulate is only too pleased to be offering this opportunity to the Jamaican community in Hartford, particularly at this time when government services are experiencing general constraints. She further informed that the Consulate is committed to reaching out to Hartford and various communities in this manner and hopes to provide this outreach from time to time.
The Jamaican Consulate General, in partnership with the Caribbean Trade Council and the Collin Bennett Agency, is seeking to encourage Jamaicans to utilize this service. It should be recalled that a service of this nature had been held regularly some years ago through the kind generosity of the Collin Bennett Agency.
