The Columbia University Center for Jazz Studies in Collaboration with Harlem Stage presents – In Search of the lost Riddim: Jamaican Jazz Fusion- featuring Jazz musician Cedric Brooks (saxophone), Earnest Rangkin (guitar), Orville Hammond (piano) Wayne Bachelor (string bass), Desmond Jones (drums), Larry McDonald (conga) and Douglas Ewart (reeds & percussion).
The event will be held at Harlem Stage @Aaron Davis Hall, West 135th Street and Convent Avenue, NYC on Thursday, February 26, 2009 beginning at 7:30 pm. This will be preceded by a conversation session at 6:00 pm.
Herbie Miller renowned historian will curate this once in a lifetime evening, celebrating the inter-connection between Jamaican and American jazz culture.
