Bogle’s Funeral

by Brittany Somerset – It is with deepest sympathy that Fashozy Records announced the passing of 32 year old Robert “Rapidfire” Bogle, (not to be confused with the deceased dancehall artist Bogle). Known to most of his friends and colleagues simply as “Bogle,” he was the best friend, road manager and assistant to the singer Da’Ville and the Fashozy Records team. Bogle was the right hand man to the singer from the earliest days of his musical career until now, and he shall be deeply missed by all who knew him. Bogle was known for always being ready with a quick smile, and having an easy, laid back demeanor. He was a joy to be around and reason with. It was nearly impossible to be in his presence without wanting to smile. It was in his nature to be helpful to almost everyone he knew.

Bogle passed away in the hospital after a dignified, life long struggle with the genetic blood disease Sickle Cell Anemia. Sickle Cell is a difficult disease that affects many people, primarily of African or Caribbean descent; including other prominent Jamaicans, like the artiste Sleepy Wonder. It is imperative that small children, especially those with a family history of the disease, be tested for it as early as possible.

For more information on what you can do to help treat Sickle Cell, please visit the website of The American Sickle Cell Anemia Association at http://www.ascaa.org/ For information regarding Sickle Cell Anemia in children and teens, please visit the website of http://kidshealth.org/teen/diseases_conditions/genetic/sickle_cell_anemia.html.

Bogle’s funeral arrangements will be conducted at the Dovecot Funeral Home, in Kingston, Jamaica, on Sunday, December 7th, at 11am.
