It is telling that of all the holidays we, as Jamaicans in the Diaspora, celebrate, perhaps there is none other that brings back more heartfelt memories of our native land, as Christmas.

For many of us, we recount the old traditions of Christmas market, Johnkunnu, being with family, close friends and specials treats from Granny. For those abroad for fewer years, the yearning is perhaps less remote but certainly not less intense. Vybz Kartel, Busy Signal, Lady Saw, Coco Tea & Queen Ifrica For Sav Impact

The town of Savanna-la-mar will come alive on Thursday the 1st of January 2009 with the first ever staging of Sav Impact. This event will be held at the Llandilo Cultural Centre in Savanna-la-mar, Westmoreland. It will feature a star studded line-up with the likes of Vybz Kartel, Busy Signal, Lady Saw, Coco Tea, Queen Ifrica, Etana, Bugle, Macka Diamond & Stevie Face. PAINTBALL UNLEASHED AT SUN COAST ADVENTURE PARK

Rhythm and Booze all set for Christmas Day

On Christmas Day, December 25, 2008 Mainsource Media one of the promoters of Appleton Treasure Island (ATI) 2007 and 2008, in association with Appleton Jamaica Rum will stage their signature event ‘Rhythm and Booze’ at the LIME Golf Academy under the theme ‘Christmas Brews’.

Rhythm and Booze is a staple on the regular Christmas events calendar, and in previous years was held on the second Saturday in December. “We’re going to give them [patrons] something special for the Christmas Season”, says Onel Williams of Mainsource Media and no day is more special than Christmas Day for what promises to be an epic event. Bogle’s Funeral

by Brittany Somerset – It is with deepest sympathy that Fashozy Records announced the passing of 32 year old Robert “Rapidfire” Bogle, (not to be confused with the deceased dancehall artist Bogle). Known to most of his friends and colleagues simply as “Bogle,” he was the best friend, road manager and assistant to the singer Da’Ville and the Fashozy Records team. Bogle was the right hand man to the singer from the earliest days of his musical career until now, and he shall be deeply missed by all who knew him. Continue reading Bogle’s Funeral
