JAMAICA’S PM GOLDING TO MEET WITH JAMAICAN DISAPORA IN NEW YORK ON SATURDAY

Jamaicans in New York will get the opportunity to meet and have face to face discussions with Prime Minister Bruce Golding on Saturday (Sept 27) and Sunday (Sept 28) when the Prime Minister continues a series of arranged meetings including a church service over the coming weekend in New York City.

Mr. Golding has been in New York since Sunday to attend a number of high level meetings, and to address the 63rd Session of the United Nations General Assembly. He will be making his presentation to the UN tomorrow morning (Sept 26).

Prime Minister Golding will attending a church service on Saturday (Sept 27) at the Hanson Place Seventh Day Adventist Church at 88 Hanson Place, South Portland Avenue, Brooklyn, New York, starting at 11:30am.

In the afternoon, he will get the chance to interact with young Jamaicans when he addresses a Youth Leadership Movement, a JAMPACT sponsored event at the Medgar Evers College Auditorium at 1650 Bedford Avenue in Brooklyn between 1:30pm-3:00pm. That meeting will be followed by a town hall meeting with the Jamaican Diaspora at 4:00pm at the same venue – Medgar Evers College Auditorium. Jamaicans in and around the area are being urged to attend to hear Prime Minister’s update on social, economic and political issues affecting their island home.

On Sunday, Jamaicans in New York will get another opportunity to hear the prime minister speak as he is scheduled to be the guest speaker at the annual benefit luncheon of the Mustard Seed Communities at 1:00pm at the New York Hilton Hotel at 1335 Avenue of the Americas (6th Avenue & 54th St) in Manhattan.

Prime Minister Golding will depart New York for Washington, D.C., where he will continue to participate in a number of high level meetings with the World Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank. He will also be meeting with Jamaicans in the Washington/Maryland metro area.
