Dancehall giants Bounty Killer & Ninja Man will headline the first annual Western Bembe Invasion which is slated to take place on Saturday July 5th 2008, at the Rickie’s Motors car park in Negril Spot Westmoreland. This event is the first of it kind to be held anywhere in western Jamaica. As U.S. based entertainment company New York Entertainment Movement Inc. introduces the popular Bembe party to patrons in the in that part of the island. It is widely known that Bembe which held in Kingston on Thursdays is one of the hottest weekly events in Jamaica, featuring a host of top selectors which make up the Bembe Squad, dancers and top entertainers.
It will be no different at Western Bemebe Invasion as the promoters of the event have put together an exciting lineup of selectors from the very popular Bembe Squad such as Razz & Biggy, Richie Feelings, Jigzy & Penny Bling. The Bembe Squad will showcase their musical skills along side IRIE FM radio personality The Dancehall Master GT Taylor, along with his GT’s Aggregation sound system & and home town favourites Hard Rock sound system. It is widely known that dancing is an integral aspect of Bembe. Therefore there will be a dance contest open to all dancers, with the top three winners receiving cash prizes and trophies.
Western Bemebe Invasion will also feature performances from Utan Green, Timmi Burrell, Bahu, Homa Heights, Hype Type & Ragga Lox. Western Bembe Invasion is sponsored by IRIE FM, New York Entertainment Records, Negril TV, LINK FM, VYBZ FM. ZIP 103 FM’s Nikki Z will host the event along with Skerrit Boy from New York City.
