NCB fires a response to Olint injunction
The National Commercial Bank (NCB) has reacted to Friday’s Supreme Court injunction barring it from closing the accounts of Olint Corporation.
The injunction, first aired by RJR News, also barred the NCB from destroying or disposing of documents related to Olint’s accounts.
In a release issued on Tuesday afternoon, NCB says it has referred the matter to its external counsel, who will shortly file a response in the Supreme Court.
Head of Group Marketing and Communications, Sheree Martin, is quoted in the release as saying the bank has never encouraged nor authorized the destruction of documents relevant to any case in which it is involved.
According to Ms Martin the Bank is willing to disclose any documents in its possession provided they are not privileged and there is no statutory or legal restriction preventing it from making such disclosures.
