Jamaica is not only one of the most beautiful countries on earth, it is also one of the most culturally blessed. Talent is aplenty in our little island especially where music is concerned, so much so that it is now common place to see people who are otherwise employed, also showing off their musical talents. Once upon a time music was looked at as something for the idlers, but this is not the case anymore. We have doctors, lawyers and other professionals who are also pursuing careers in music.
Now a very talented police officer Evrold Tomlinson, of the Savanalamar Police station in Westmoreland, has also decided to make his entry into the music business. Tomlinson who goes by the stage name Stamma T, grew up in the community of Strathbogie in Westmoreland, where he attended the Bath Seventh Day Adventist Church. He says his love for singing began in those early days while attending church. Continue reading Stamma T the Singing Police
Many people might be wondering what happened to the talented young artist by the name of Lemon who had several singles in rotation on radio a few years ago such as Tear It Off, Children Crying and Up & Down on the B.I.G label. The talented upcoming singer who delivered exciting performances on events such as Reggae Sumfest & GT’s Extravaganza, seemed poised for success but then he just disappeared from the local music scene. The western Jamaica based artist simply took a break to better his craft. He has been busy for the past few years working on a number of projects with his manager/producer Ralston Barrett (Torie-Shae’s Production/ B.I.G Records) and his other colleagues in their camp. Since his last release Tear It Off on the Quick Action rhythm (B.I.G Records) in 2003, he has recorded a number of unreleased songs for Barret’s B.I.G label and other producers such as Computer Paul (Boot Camp Records) & Richard Brown (Isle Of Springs label). These songs feature different musical genres and styles. He has recorded more than enough songs for an album. However he is in no rush to release an album now as he and his management team is concentrating on releasing several singles such as Got To Overcome, Chill & Hold A Vibes, Man Of My Word & Coochie Tight over the next couple of months going into next year.
